Biospherical Pain

My mind is desert

blank

vast

ever-widening is its consumption

yet extant everywhere but here

sand in

my eyes

waterless

tears

A creature melts beneath the heat

the pain burns with my fear.

My mind is a jungle

frenetic

methodical

plethora of ropes of which swing at my wish

yet life lives underground

dirt chokes

my mouth

endless

haze

The birds do call to lead the path

the pain poisons my gaze.

My mind is a tundra

taciturn

austere

white-dusted lakes by spring promise peace

yet Russian Roulette’s my game

snow burns

my skin

graceless

addict

The compass ensures a safe-retreat

the pain won’t let me have it.

  1. well said

  2. Great imagery! Love the darkness…. It’s in us all! Love it!

  3. Wish I could write poetry like you do! All I do is prose: http://meantforsomethingbetter.com/2012/03/29/return-to-life-in-israel/

    • Thank you. However, prose is really something to be proud of. Not many can pull it off effectively..if you know what I mean. You have to have a knack for syntax, details, etc.
